Eddie Burns is a business management and development professional with strengths in relationship building, client management and engagement, risk mitigation, project leadership and analytics, business and market intelligence and new business implementation. Excellent process management, communication and interpersonal skills serve as a foundation for collaborating with clients, senior executives, and matrix partners to meet organizational goals and exceed client and stakeholder expectations.

In his current role as Broker Executive, Eddie is responsible for managing broker relationships, analyzing market trends, and developing sales strategies in the Consumer Markets segment to optimize distribution channels for Independence Blue Cross the leading health insurance company in the region with nearly 3 million members in the fully insured market.

In his previous role Eddie served as the project lead responsible for implementing and onboarding new enterprise client accounts at AmeriHealth, a subsidiary of Independence Health Group and third-party administrator, managing more than $1 billion in health benefits with a focus on helping insurers, employers, producers, and health care providers with cost containment, regulatory compliance, specialized processing services and self-funded health plan management.

Prior to joining AmeriHealth Eddie held business development, account and relationship management roles at Ralph Lauren, Merrill Lynch & Co., and Vanguard.

Eddie served on the Student Financial Services Advisory Board as a board member and presided over the Liberal & Professional Studies Student Association at the University of Pennsylvania where he holds a B.A. in English Literature.

Eddie previously served on the Program Committee of the Board for YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School, an organization that provides at-risk young adults the opportunity to build valuable job skills, develop a positive mindset and learn and grow in a supportive environment.
