Alyshia Perrin

The Principal of P.L. Dunbar, Ms. Alyshia Perrin, has been educating the students of Bridgeport for the since 2002. She’s taught Language Arts, served as a Special Education Resource teacher before receiving a degree in Educational Administration. From 2010 to 2014, Ms. Perrin served as the Assistant Principal at Paul Laurence Dunbar School before becoming the school’s principal. She has served on several district committees, participated in Yancy Principal Forums for four years, participated in the Literacy Leadership Institute, was a participant in CT LEAD for Turnaround school principals for three years and is a part of the READCONN Literacy Initiative with the State Department of Education. Ms. Perrin has also served as a Site Coordinator for the Lighthouse Program for five years, co-facilitated the New Teacher Academy for year one teachers in the city of Bridgeport in partnership with The Teacher’s College at Columbia University

Ms. Perrin’s educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that children deserve the best education possible, “Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.”
