School-Police Partnerships Webinar

In January 2015, Strategies for Youth participated in a US Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) training webinar.

About: This webinar explores how schools and police agencies can work collaboratively to improve school safety, while minimizing the use of arrest and ensuring that law enforcement officials are not responsible for enforcing minor school discipline offenses. Recommendations focus on the roles and responsibilities of police on campus, training and supervision for law enforcement, and developing agreements to formalize school-police partnerships. Additionally, the webinar highlights a decision-making tool that helps educators and police develop shared goals and objectives and determine the most appropriate partnership for their context.
