Before retiring this year after 28+ years of service, Lisa Hinz worked her way up the ranks of the Sacramento City Police Department to the rank of Captain of Outreach & Engagement Services. There she participated in many innovative programs and initiatives for youth, including creating and leading the Kops ‘N Kids camp for Sacramento youth from 2000 to 2014, developing a Youth Services Unit, a juvenile citation program, addressing racial disparities in arrest rates, and developing strong partnerships with local Boys & Girls’ Clubs. Lisa was appointed by California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye to serve on the “Keeping Kids in School and Out of Court” statewide steering committee.For a short period, Captain Hinz was deployed to serve as Police Superintendent for Sacramento Rapid Transit. Today, Lisa Hinz returns there as Vice President.
